Learning Response: The rise of UGC has had a big imapct on news institutions, the internet now allows consumers to produce their owner content and share it with other consumers. New technology of mobile phones that allow consumers to upload videos and images straight onto the world wide web for audiences around the world to view free of charge. This is shown by a user generated content which was uploaded on to youtube of the Rodney King incident, where police officers were filmed beating up a man. This video spread world wide and became headlines on co operate news channels, it then went into court and the video was used as evidence against the police. This was one of the first UGC on the internet and has allowed many other consumers to follow in the same footstep.
